Cagrilintide is a long-acting, acylated amylin analogue engineered for sustained receptor engagement. Amylin is a pancreatic peptide co-secreted with insulin that plays a critical role in glycemic regulation and satiety signaling. Cagrilintide acts on amylin receptors (AMY1, AMY2, AMY3) and calcitonin receptors in the hypothalamus and brainstem, regions governing energy homeostasis. Pre-clinical and early clinical research models have investigated its effects on appetite suppression, gastric emptying, and body weight regulation. Notably, cagrilintide has been studied in combination with semaglutide (CagriSema) in metabolic disorder research, demonstrating additive effects in weight reduction and cardiometabolic parameter improvement. Research interest continues to grow around amylin-GLP-1 co-agonism as a mechanistic approach to metabolic disease. All research is conducted strictly for in vitro and pre-clinical scientific use only. Not for human consumption.
Stability & Storage
Store lyophilized at -20°C, protected from light. Stable ≥24 months. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water; after reconstitution store at 4°C and use within 14 days. Due to the acylated structure, avoid surfactant-containing solvents. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles; aliquoting is strongly recommended.
